2024 OCSTA AGM – BHNCDSB Trustee Dan Dignard Recognized by OCSTA

“Dan Dignard has a long history of dedicated service and thoughtful leadership at the Brant Haldimand Norfolk CDSB. He has always been an active participant in OCSTA, attending many conferences and seminars and using the information and knowledge gained to better understand the needs of the Board’s families with respect to Catholic education and provincial priorities. Dan is well-known in the community and builds strong relationships with parents and students. He is a vocal and strong advocate for Catholic education and continually exceeds the requirements and responsibilities of a Catholic school trustee.

Dan has served on every committee of the Board and has incredible insight and experience when it comes to leadership, oversight, and difficult decisions. Dan has been involved in Pupil Accommodations Reviews and school closures which are two very challenging items for families. He navigated both, numerous times, with empathy and grace. Families appreciate the time Dan spends with them and the clarity of process and decisions that he provides.

Dan has had successful careers at Bell Canada and now as a real estate agent. Giving back to his community has always been very important to Dan. He served as a Director of the Burford Figure Skating Club, and coached hockey and baseball, while always keeping his constituents and Catholic education a priority.

OCSTA is pleased to recognize Dan Dignard as a recipient of the 2024 Trustee Award of Merit.”
